Vy Huynh: MAC Lipstick in Impassioned

I believe every makeup lover must own at least one MAC product. MAC is not really the brand that everyone is crazy about anymore but for a long time before, everybody used MAC products. There are many iconic shades of MAC Lipstick that many people still use till this day. Today I will review one of their famous lipstick - Impassioned. I know the nude mauve trend is still going strong but once in a while, I do enjoy a bright pink lipstick.

MAC Impassioned Lipstick has a typical black packaging. I like MAC packaging, very sturdy, very sleek. However, I think it's so hard to know what color it is by looking at the package, especially for many people who own like 20 MAC lipsticks. I think it would be better if the silver ring in the middle had the color of the lipstick. Just my two cents.

It belongs to MAC’s Amplified Creme range and has a creme formula and is highly pigmented. It gives you a full opaque color with one or two swipes and even when you have pigmented lips it will cover as well. It tends to transfer to my food or drink easily but at the end of the day, when I don't apply my lipstick at all during the day, my lips still have a little tint of color. It also gets flaky at times if you don't exfoliate your lips or put on lip balm.

Impassioned shade is described as a warm coral with a cream finish. However, I think this color shows up differently on different skintones. On my skintone, it is more of a bright watermelon pink color. I have looked at the swatches of this shades on different skintones and I think it's flattering to people of all skin colors.

I love the trendy nude color a lot but I have to do put quite a lot of makeup to avoid it from washing out my face. With this Impassioned color, I don't have to wear any heavy makeup in order to wear it, which is amazing for such a lazy girl like me.
